Information, not professional advice

Our guides, cost ranges and calculators are general information to help you plan. They aren't legal, engineering, architectural, insurance, financial or other professional advice, and they aren't an official interpretation of any law, code or ordinance.

  • Prices are planning ranges based on published information we've reviewed. They aren't quotes, and your costs may be higher or lower.
  • Calculators produce preliminary budget estimates, not contractor quotations.
  • Permit, code and licensing information summarizes official sources at the time we last reviewed them.   • We don't guarantee that we'll refer your inquiry, or that a contractor will contact you, provide a quote, be available, or be suitable for your project.
  • Any agreement for work is between you and the contractor. The contractor is responsible for its work, pricing, licenses, insurance and compliance.
  • We don't verify contractors' licenses, insurance or work on your behalf. Please check a contractor's license at MyFloridaLicense.com and do your own checks before hiring anyone.

We link to official and third-party websites for your convenience. We don't control them and aren't responsible for their content or practices.

Acceptable use

Please don't misuse the site, for example by submitting false inquiries or someone else's contact details, attempting to interfere with its operation, scraping it in bulk, or using it for unlawful purposes.

Intellectual property

The content, design and logos on this site belong to us or our licensors. You may share links and quote brief passages with attribution. Please don't republish our content without permission.

Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, we aren't liable for losses arising from your use of the site or reliance on its content, or from any dealings with contractors, including those we refer. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer protection law that can't be limited.
